Hello Crafty Friends! It’s officially August and summer is quickly winding down. If you’re like me, you’re probably finalizing your fall and winter market schedule and are cranking out that inventory!
I personally get a lot of enjoyment from selling crochet in person. It gives me the opportunity to put a face to my name and meet new people! This will be my fourth year participating in craft markets and I’m excited to setup at some I have experience with as well as a few new ones!
I get asked often what my best sellers are for markets are! And the truth is, with every market, the answer is always different. Plus, every year I add new items to my inventory!
Any time I see a fellow maker release a new pattern or when I discover one of their older ones, I naturally start to evaluate how well the item may sell in a market setting. If I think it could do well for my target market, I save the pattern for later!
I always consider certain criteria with patterns including quickness, difficulty, yarn usage and profit margin.
I’ve created a list of 10 patterns that I believe are perfect market items!
1. Crafty Loop Earrings by @acraftyconcept.
Earrings are becoming a new trend in our crochet community and this pattern by Ashley of A Crafty Concept doesn’t disappoint! She really nailed “boho chic.”
Her Crafty Loop Earrings are quick, easy and unique – all key attributes to a pattern perfect for markets.
The profit margin for these are high since the materials are inexpensive and take very little time! Plus, the pattern is available for FREE on her blog!
Her blog post also includes printable packaging from The Knotty Boss! Win!

2. The Knotted Mop / Dust Cover by @myhookupz
One of my favorite stitches is the bobble stitch! So, anytime I find a pattern with a bobble, i’m a happy crocheter!
These mop / duster covers are the perfect creation for the eco-friendly customer. I hate having to buy the refills for my Swiffer and this is the perfect alternative. Plus, the bobble stitch is the perfect texture for scrubbing flooring!
This is another quick and simple pattern that is a great yarn buster! You can easily bring your own mop / duster with you to your festival to use as a display.

This pattern by Cozy Moon Designs is one of my favorite drink holder patterns! It is simple, with great stitching and texture!
Anything reusable is trendy right now especially when it can be used for hot or cold drinks!
These can be easily stashed in your desk drawer, car, or purse to make it easily accessible. They would also be great as gifts since everyone loves a good ‘to-go’ beverage!
Be sure to include a display at your market to show how these can be best used for drinks!

5. The Mug Hugger Coffee Cozy by @thejonesyco
Similar to the drink holder, mug wraps huggers are also fun!
I specifically love this pattern because of the bow! The bow makes it easy to adjust the hugger to any mug size. They could also be used for larger to-go cups when needed.
Customers will love picking out their favorite colors! You can also sell these as sets with hot chocolate or tea wrapped up with a bow for the perfect Christmas gift!

Looking for home decor to add to your inventory? This crochet plant hanger by February Sky Designs is perfect!
I’m a huge fan of adding green to my home, so these stood out to me immediately! I love that they use wooden rings and beads to really add a natural, boho feel to these hangers.
The design is simple to make but looks very detailed and will be sure to impress customers!

8. F-BOMB by The Crocheting Mom
Not going to lie, I laughed to myself a lot when I first saw these. Clever and unique, this pattern is perfect for markets with a lot of adults as your audience. But, children won’t understand why their parents are quietly giggling at something with a simple letter on it.
Customers will love the subtle humor of these F – Bombs and will instantly think of the perfect person they know who could also use a laugh.
Perfect “joke” gifts for just about anyone with a sense of humor.

10. Bella the Baby Owl by @thecraftyfoxcrochet
Last, my personal favorite pattern for markets is one of my own. The Bella the Baby Owl Pattern features two sizes of owls. I have been making these for many years and are always my best seller.
I love the simplicity of this pattern and the ability to make it with a variety of colors and types of yarn. They fit perfectly in children’s hands and are super squishy!
